OpenCode v1.19.2: 1.x updates stay separate from OpenCode 2#

Part of the OpenCode Version Tracker series. | OpenCode on GitHub | Releases
OpenCode v1.19.2 lands two releases after v1.19.0 and separates the 1.x and 2.x update tracks: a 1.x install's update check now reads only the npm opencode-ai latest version, so it is never offered a 2.x build as a routine update, and crossing to OpenCode 2 stays an explicit choice.[1] The earlier v1.19.1 discontinued session sharing.
Updates stay on the 1.x line#
v1.19.2 is an update-channel release. A 1.x install now resolves its update check against the npm opencode-ai latest version alone, so it is never handed a 2.x build as a regular update. Moving to OpenCode 2 runs through the 2.0 offer in /update or the opencode upgrade --major command. The rest of the release carries that split across the package managers a 1.x install can come from.
| Change | Release |
|---|---|
Update checks read only the npm opencode-ai latest version; a 1.x install is never offered a 2.x build as a regular update | v1.19.2 |
OpenCode 2 is reached through the 2.0 offer in /update or opencode upgrade --major | v1.19.2 |
| Upgrades fixed for installs managed by yarn | v1.19.2 |
| 1.x updates skipped for Homebrew Core installs (which now track OpenCode 2); tap and Chocolatey availability checked before an update is offered | v1.19.2 |
| The install script refuses to install 2.x versions | v1.19.2 |
| Session sharing discontinued; share links, session-sharing commands, and share-URL imports no longer work | v1.19.1 |
Session sharing is gone#
v1.19.1 discontinued session sharing. Existing share links and the session-sharing commands are no longer available, and importing a session from a share URL is unsupported.
The 1.x and 2.x lines update on separate tracks#
OpenCode now runs 1.x and 2.x as separate update tracks. A 1.x install follows the opencode-ai npm line and will not step onto 2.x on its own; the move to OpenCode 2 is a command the user runs, through the 2.0 offer in /update or opencode upgrade --major. v1.19.2 extends that split across the ways a 1.x install arrives: yarn, Homebrew (Core and tap), and Chocolatey, plus the install script, which now declines 2.x.
A 1.x install receives 1.x updates and no 2.x build unless the upgrade is run explicitly. Homebrew Core is the one path that changes direction here, since that formula now tracks OpenCode 2; v1.19.2 skips the 1.x update for those installs and checks the tap and Chocolatey before offering one.
v1.19.2 changes only packaging and the update channel, and the session-sharing removal in v1.19.1 is its one change to what the tool can do.
